  • ...One of my favorite things to do lately is make a big toast plate while we watch football on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Usually we cut each one in half, but I admit I stole the whole sweet one! Mainly because this CINNAMON PUMPKIN CASHEW BUTTER is the BOMB (recipe below). I used two slices @simplekneads_gf Sourdough and two slices of @simplekneads_gf Pumpernickel...Which one would you choose?

Deets: @simplekneads_gf Bread toasted. 
1️⃣ Pumpkin cashew spread with banana, blueberries, and strawberry granola. SPREAD: 1/4 cup cashew butter, 1/4 cup pumpkin purée, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 tablespoon maple syrup. 
2️⃣ Arugula tossed in olive oil, and a fried egg with some salt/pepper. 
3️⃣ Dairy free cream cheese, smoked salmon and lots of dill. 
4️⃣ Avocado, sesame seeds, soft boiled egg and tahini. •

At my leanest weight, I faced cycles of bingeing, exhaustion, little motivation to workout, a lot of stress (work and personal), and missed my periods for 2 months.
.
I do not tell you this to belittle your efforts towards losing weight or gain strength or to gain sympathy from you, I tell you to because gaining weight isn’t something this industry/society makes you feel comfortable about and I want to support you if you’re in this situation.
.
Of course I am trying my best to be kind towards myself, but the first few thoughts that came to my mind after I saw the pic on the right were:
.
“I have gained fat.”
.
“ I am eating out a lot and not really controlling myself.”
.
“My stomach is getting jiggly and softer”
.
“I might have to increase my workouts/week”
.
I personally feel that the first step is recognizing these negative-self talks about your body and consciously taking actions to change your inner dialogue from negative to positive. Sure you cannot be positive all the time but recognizing the negative dialogue is important!
.
The next step would be to tell yourself that it’s ok for your bodies to change. Female bodies are amazing and go through a lot in a month. Its okay to feel bloated during periods. Its okay to be able to run 8 miles sometimes and just 2 miles other times. Its okay to be able to do 15 pushups non-stop and just 5 some other times. We are allowed to change, grow, flourish and thrive❤️
